After a very welcome break in Tuscany, I can now look forward to starting the planning process for the next big event : Open Studios 2016.

Most OS participants were happy with the event that took place over the weekend of 5th and 6th September 2015 and I have had some valuable feedback. I have asked for a debriefing meeting on the 18th of October 2015, starting around 12.30hr and the venue will be at my place – directions on the website. If anyone other than participants would like to contribute, they would also be welcome. The idea is to bring something to eat and drink and talk about past performance and plans for the 2016 event. Partners will unfortunately not be accommodated as space is limited. If you have not yet responded to the invitation, please let me know as soon as you can.
Incidentally, I have sold another painting this morning as a direct result of Open Studios. The buyer has taken this time to decide … This indicates that when you go on exhibition (of any kind), sales on the occasion do not always reflect the success or failure; it’s the long-term effect that counts, in my opinion. This has been proven during my years as a gallery owner when consistency and determination won through.
There are many events taking place all around the island and it would be a good idea if you could share your invitations and notifications with fellow members (like Kiara) – not all of us are on all the mailing lists and often regret missing out on interesting happenings. If you don’t want to go through the time-wasting activity of picking out everyone’s email address from the website, just send the information to me and I will distribute it. I could also add it to the calendar on the website for ease of reference.
I am ready to start my own preparations for next year’s Open Studios event as I am looking forward to cooler weather and an opportunity to get outside for some plein air painting; something I have not done enough of. All the work I will be doing from now on will be focused on that event … and I mean ALL the work! Here is a mixed media painting I made on the Tuscan trip … Missing Vincent:
Apologies for the poor photography of the piece but you get the idea.
Please let us know how you are getting along and what you are planning on doing next – we are all interested! Above all else, have fun!
Till next time, keep on creating!
P.S. One very important point: The ONLY email address you should use for me is email@example.com
